Bali: The Anantara Seminyak Truly Cares About You

It's so sad to say that it's been nearly a year since my trip to Bali and I'm now finding time to write more about it. Such is life - we get so busy with our day-to-do stuff (whatever that is!) that I find it important to sit back and think about the good times in life. 

The second leg of my Bali trip took us to Seminyak - the beach. Finally! After spending nearly a week in Ubud, we were ready to venture out for some beach living. Although I have to say - I would go back to Ubud in a heartbeat for the daily spa treatments and some of the best food I've ever had.

Spain: Let's Talk Madrid

he first time I ever visited Europe was to Madrid for five days. It was a short trip but at the time I lived in New York so the flight wasn’t horrifically long. I stayed with friends in the center of town and upon my first day, I nearly got robbed (these two guys grabbed my makeup bag out of my backpack and when my friend told them in broken Spanish that it was just makeup, they left it behind). And for anyone who knows this story, I felt it would not do justice to curse them out in English as they walked away and the only thing I knew to say at that instant was “No bueno! No bueno!” This, much to my chagrin, has become one of my most memorable and embarrassing travel stories to date.

Then, when I watched Julia Roberts bike along the rice paddy fields in Ubud in the film version, it was a done deal for me. I knew that this was one place that I had to visit before I died. Sounds morbid but it’s part of the bucket list that we all have, right?
