(Hopefully that helps sway your decision at your next nail salon visit!)

How long have you been a manicurist and where did you get your start?
I got my cosmetology license in 1999 and began specializing in nail care shortly after--so 14 years ago, crazy!! I was very fortunate to begin my career in the beauty industry working for Estee Lauder and Bloomingdales. I worked as a manicurist in the Estee Lauder Day Spa (in Bloomingdales) in the Washington DC area for just over two years. Having this experience is what has driven my success, providing a high level of professionalism and having incredible attention to detail was taught, so this is the foundation that I built upon my career upon.

What does it feel like to be in hot demand right now given your clientele AND how nail art is the most popular trend right now?
I feel extremely blessed and I am so excited to be a part of this hot time in fashion! Nails are every person's constant accessory--like it or not, your nails are always there! It's nice that it's finally acceptable to show off your personal fashion touch through your nails, whether low key or all out, it's completely up to you and all ways are accepted!

Do you ever get nervous working with A-list clients?  And if so, how do you calm your nerves?
There has been a time or two that I have been nervous, but I remind myself that are people just like me, my sister, my mom, my best friend, and I have a job to do--be professional and impeccable in my work. I stay focused and it always goes just fine!

What was the most intricate or bizarre manicure/nail art you've done on a client?
This has to be the nails I did for a special segment on E!'s Live Countdown to the Grammy's Red Carpet. My song selection that the nails were to be inspired by was Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain". I did a vertical ombre in grey to red to amber on all nails leading to the middle finger, which I adorned with an amber toned teardrop rhinestone as well as gold leafing that extended up the actual finger to a amber stone ring. It was so awesome and so much fun to create! I was proud--especially because I was only given thirty minutes to complete the look, per the competition!

What colour are you currently obsessed with and why?
This has always been a tough question for me to answer. I love nail polish and have so many favorites for a variety of reasons. Currently I have red on my toes and just had white on my hands (for 4th of July). I am very seasonal with my personal choices, but with my clients it just depends on what's going on. But, if I HAVE to choose I would pick Azature Black Diamond Nail Polish in Champagne, it's a champagne colored glitter polish that looks good on every skin tone and it's also great to use for nail art. It's the perfect choice that allows you to be subtle and neutral, but make a statement at the same time.
